Week 44 · Character
Modesty and dignity
Modesty is the respect we show ourselves and others in our words, actions and clothes.
Why it matters
Modesty and good manners teach a child that their body, their words and their personal space are valuable — just like other people's. A child who respects themselves knows how to behave and what to wear in different places, and does not easily give in to pressure from others. This kind of modesty grows not from fear or shame but from self-respect.
