My child's attention wanders quickly

Does your little one start a game and switch to another straight away? This is usually normal for the age: short activities and a calm setting help attention grow step by step.

What you may notice

  • Your child leaves a game half-finished and moves on to another.
  • While listening to a story, they soon look around and can't sit still.
  • From a two-step request, they only do the first part.
  • Any sound or movement nearby pulls them away from what they're doing.
