Fairness
Being fair means giving everyone their due, even someone we don't like.
Why it matters
Children are quick to sense unfairness, and 'That's not fair!' is one of their first protests. When turns are respected at home, things are shared fairly and rules apply to everyone, adults included, a child learns to treat others fairly too. Fairness keeps trust and peace in the family and among friends.
