Respecting differences
People are different: everyone deserves respect, and everyone has something to teach us.
Why it matters
Children notice early that people look, speak and move in different ways, and they learn from us how to respond. A family that meets differences with curiosity rather than jokes or fear raises open-hearted, respectful children. Every new person we get to know widens our view of the world.
