What we gain through our own effort tastes the sweetest.
Why it matters
Children gain confidence when they are allowed to do things themselves, even if slowly and imperfectly. Through work they learn that results come step by step, and they start to value their own work and the work of others. These habits prepare them to stand on their own feet as adults.
