Week 34 · Character
Thrift
Being thrifty isn't being mean; it's valuing what we have.
Why it matters
Thrift teaches a child that money, water, bread and belongings come from hard work and should be used wisely. A child who can tell wants from needs and saves towards a goal is learning a skill for life. And thrift has nothing to do with meanness: on the contrary, it leaves us room to help others too.
